We took a two day trip to Hiroshima and Miyajima. This is mom and dad at Hiroshima Castle, otherwise known as Carp Castle because there are huge carp in the moat. There really are huge carp all over Japan, so i'm not sure why the name took to this particular castle. But anyway, I don't have a pic of the castle to post because they're all vertical, and it's too hard to see on the blog. But here are mom and dad amidst the cherry blossoms, and you can see the river in the background. We had a little make-shift picnic on the bench in the castle grounds! It was just a beautiful day...wearing short sleeves and all. : )
