4 Minutes of Fame

Lets just say that my mom is flying high because she got her 4 minutes of fame yesterday afternoon.

This past weekend, my oldest sister Michele put together a girl's weekend in celebration of Mother's Day. It was a surprise to my mom, and the outing was for just us sisters and her.

It started Saturday afternoon. I got my mom and I all dolled up at home, and then we packed our bags and headed to Ancaster to share 2 days and one night together with my sisters. Saturday night we went out to a fancy restaurant for din-din, and then we came home and played games while drinking vodka coolers. :)

The next morning we went out for breakfast and then headed off to the Royal Botanical Gardens in Burlington for a few hours. Wow, the gardens are amazing. Of course they all weren't in bloom yet, but we went to the Tulip Festival which was just breathtaking. We oooed and awwwed at all the bright colours and took many a creative picture while posing in front of trees, flowers, and shrubs alike.

Then the best part happened. While taking a creative shot (and actually dancing to the live music) in a rock garden, we noticed the CH 12 News cameras passing by. The journalist saw my mom's pizzaz, and asked her if she wanted to comment on the gardens. If you know my mother, you know she is spunky, and VERY easily excited. She just jumped all over the questions and told the whole story about why we were there and where we were from. Mil and Michele were standing with her, but I was too shy to get in there - I'm not sure why.

Anyway, that night at 6:00 there was my mom on the CH 12 News. Man, I think it's hilarious. We didn't get to see it, but plenty of people who work at her school told her about it. She called us at 8:00 am to tell us...what a great 4 minutes of fame.

Go mom.
